Hi, all!

My name is Heike, and I’m a TFA Newark 2011 Corps Member!  I graduated from Ithaca College in 2011 with B.A.s in Spanish and English, and minors in German and Honors Studies.  I speak 4 languages (Spanish, English, German, and Portuguese), and I believe the achievement gap that American students face is the biggest travesty and disservice facing our country at this time.

For that reason, I’m here to blog my experiences as a part of the Teach for America movement.  If you have any questions about me, or my posts, feel free to leave a comment, or email me!
